The School of Art is part of Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD), a faculty of Birmingham City University. The School of Art has two purpose built sites, Margaret Street in the City centre where the BA(Hons) Fine Art and a number of MA Art Based Courses are based, and the Bournville campus where the BA (Hons) Visual Arts by Negotiated Study and the highly successful Foundation in Art and Design are based. The site also offers a number of popular self development day-time and evening classes in subjects including Ceramics, Photography, and Life Drawing.

The site includes excellent custom built studios supported by well equipped workshop areas, a specialist art and design library, and The International Project Space - an on site gallery open to the public.
